The landscape of digital product design is evolving. As a UI UX expert in Kerala India, I’ve seen firsthand how the focus has shifted from “engagement at all costs” to “humane-centric experiences.” This shift isn’t just a trend; it’s a necessity in a world overwhelmed by digital noise.
Recently, I participated in the IFP 50-hour Design Challenge, a high-octane marathon where designers are pushed to their absolute limits. I am proud to share that out of a massive global pool, my project Sukun was officially nominated in the UI Design category.
To understand the magnitude of this nomination, you have to look at the scale of the challenge. I wasn’t just competing with local talent; I was up against a global community:
1,766 Designers participated worldwide.
Representing 248 Cities.
Spanning 14 Countries.
Out of this massive pool of nearly 1,800 professionals, I am incredibly honored to share that my project, Sukun, was officially selected as a top nominee. For a designer based in Kerala, this recognition on a national and international stage is a powerful validation of the talent emerging from our local tech ecosystem.
The challenge brief was “Humane Design.” In an age where apps are built to keep us “hooked” through dark patterns and infinite scrolls, I wanted to build something that did the opposite. Sukun (meaning “peace”) is a mobile interface designed to help users regain their time.
Within the first 5 hours of the 50-hour window, I analyzed the psychological toll of “doom-scrolling.” As a UI UX expert, I knew the solution wasn’t just to hide apps, but to introduce intentional friction. I researched “Stopping Cues”—visual indicators that tell the brain, “You’ve seen enough for now.”
In my Figma screens, you can see the core pillars of Sukun:
The Intention Gateway: A splash screen that asks the user “Why are you opening this app?” with a 3-second breathing animation.
Bento-Grid Information Architecture: Moving away from the infinite list, I used a structured grid to give users a sense of “completion” once they viewed their primary tasks.
Desaturated Color Palettes: Using soft, muted tones to lower cognitive load and reduce the dopamine spikes associated with bright, “aggressive” UI colors.
When you work with me, you aren’t just getting a designer; you are getting a globally nominated strategist. This achievement ensures that your project benefits from:
Competitive Edge: My work has already been vetted against 1,700+ other professionals.
Global Standards: I design with a perspective that works across 14 countries and hundreds of cities.
Efficiency: The ability to produce nominated-level work in a 50-hour window means your project stays on track and hits the highest quality marks.
“A nomination at this scale confirms that world-class UI/UX expertise is thriving right here in Kerala.”
The IFP 50-Hour Design Challenge is one of Asia’s most prestigious creative marathons. Being selected as a nominee means that out of nearly 1,800 entries from 248 cities, my work was flagged by an expert jury for its innovation, strategic thinking, and high-fidelity execution. It acts as a “vetted” stamp of approval, ensuring you are working with a professional who can deliver under tight deadlines.
While “dark patterns” might offer short-term engagement, Humane Design (like my project Sukun) builds long-term brand loyalty. Research shows that every $1 invested in UX brings a return of up to $100. By prioritizing user wellbeing and digital peace, you reduce user frustration and churn, leading to higher customer retention and a stronger, more trustworthy brand image in the marketplace.
My process follows the Design Thinking methodology: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. I start with deep user research to understand the pain points of your specific audience. As a UI UX expert, I then translate these insights into wireframes and high-fidelity designs (using tools like Figma) that are not only visually stunning but also optimized for conversion and accessibility.
Kerala has rapidly emerged as a powerhouse for design talent, blending technical proficiency with deep cultural empathy. By hiring a UI UX Expert in Kerala India, you gain access to world-class design standards at a competitive advantage. My recent global nomination at IFP competing against 1,766 designers from 14 countries proves that the quality of work produced here is on par with top-tier global agencies.
